Plus two big dates to note, below.
First, our Souper Second Sunday parent gathering is back this weekend (Sunday, March 12, 6:30-8:15pm). Join Jane BH, a large table-full of chatty soup-eating parents, and Rob and Donna Martsolf, to discuss ‘parenting as a team through the different seasons of life.’ Please email or text me to confirm you are coming so we can cater accordingly.
Second, regular CAYG routine this weekend BUT we have super guest speaker Leah Hornfeck joining us on Friday and Sunday. Can’t wait!
Friday 4:30-5:30pm PieDay Friday for middle schoolers at 849 Jancey St. An RSVP text is helpful so we have enough pie!
Friday 6:30-8:30pm Middle School CAYG. Yes, we did get some badminton birdies stuck in the rafters of the glass hallway, but super Isaiah Bornman got them down on Monday.
Sunday 6:30-8:30pm High School CAYG. Yes, we did get some large inflatable ‘volleyballs’ stuck in the rafters of the glass hallway, but super Isaiah Bornman got them down on Monday as well.

On the Sunday of the Pittsburgh Marathon (May 7) there is no Sunday Eucharist at Ascension (the roads are all closed).
So Ascension gathers for a big Saturday evening Eucharist, on May 6 at 5pm, after which CAYG will be hosting a large dinner down in the New Catacombs. We will tell the stories of the CAYG year, celebrate our graduating seniors, thank our volunteers, and generally have a wonderful time together.
And then… CAYG stays for the Marathon Overnight. Games, worship, and inadequate sleep sets us up well for a busy Sunday morning giving out water etc to the crowds of Marathon Runners from our own Official Fluid Station outside WQED on Fifth.
Do you know someone training to run in the Pittsburgh marathon?
We’d love to connect with them now so we can cheer all the louder when we see them on that Sunday!
Talking of exercise…

Early news of something to look forward to…
I’d like to be part of a big group of CAYG-ers, friends, and families biking west on Saturday, September 2 (Labor Day Weekend)! There are three options you can choose from depending on your availability and ambition!
- A 12-mile family-friendly ride.
- A 64-mile epic day to Connellsville.
- A three-day adventure reaching Cumberland.
This opportunity will be a fundraiser in partnership with the wonderful Haiti H20, and for more info, check out their webpage here.
