New Things

As well as the usual CAYG pattern this weekend (Pieday Friday, 4:30-5:30pm / Middle School CAYG Friday, 6:30-8:30pm / High School CAYG Sunday, 6:30-8:30pm) here are three new opportunities THIS MONTH you might want to make the most of.

First, high school upperclassmen and volunteer leaders are invited to CCO’s Jubilee Conference on the night of Saturday February 18 for just $19. That is six hours of awesomeness for less than twenty bucks.

We meet at Ascension for pizza at 6pm, drive down in convoy to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, join the Restoration Gathering with Danielle Strickland and the Late Night Concert with Lecrae, returning to Ascension around midnight.

Second, the next round of our Youth Confirmation Process begins on Sunday February 19!

Many have already been contacted, but if you are or know a middle schooler who is interested in joining me and Josh Bennett on this faith-clarifying journey together, click here.

There is a new design to the process, with the main teaching component happening once a month during the 11am worship service (but returning in time for communion), followed by a catered lunch in which the confirmand and their mentor follow a guided conversation together in the Hunt Rooms, finishing at 2pm.

I am thankful for those who have signed up already, and encourage everyone who is interested to sign up before Wednesday, February 8th. Once you have signed up, we begin the process of agreeing who might be each confirmand’s first mentor.

The first mentor begins in February, and the second mentor begins in September.

Wow! So THIRTY of us are signed up to serve with YouthWorks this summer! All need to attend our informational and paperwork-signing lunch on Sunday February 26, after the 11am service. Come to the Hunt Rooms.

Sunday February 26 is also the deadline to pay the next installment of $150 towards the total cost of $349 for the trip. You can do so here. Choose ‘CAYG payment’ and Sub Fund ‘CAYG/Niagara Falls Payment.’
