Happy Thursday, dear readers! How are you this fine… *Glances around for a window and does not find one* This fine day in which there is probably weather?
Here on Kelsey’s cake blog (with CAYG information scattered throughout) I tend to reward your completion with pictures of, what else, cake. And I will, to be clear. But for the first time, and at Alex’s request, we shall also BEGIN WITH CAKE!!!!!!
1. Win a Cupcake With a Costume! CAYG this Weekend!
Halloween is this Monday! And as Alex has been increasingly learning this year, he enjoys costumes! I always knew I did. And we want to share the opportunity with you! SO The first 16 Youth to arrive at CAYG Friday/Sunday IN COSTUME will get a special halloween cupcake!! Will I have made them? Duh.
You don’t have to wear a costume to come to CAYG. Some leaders will. Some won’t. And there will be pizza as normal. But think about biting into a cupcake while surrounded by the smiles of those admiring your outfit…

2. Leadership Lunch this Sunday

What: Leadership Lunch (Youth)
When: This Sunday, 12:30-2pm
Where: Room 105 (with all the couches)
Who: You, if you are a youth and would like to discuss CAYG so far this fall, ideas for the Christmas Party, wreath fundraiser prize ideas, and talk a bit about Niagara Falls.
Pizza: Again, duh.
Please RSVP here for lunch and you can suggest your preferred pizza topping!

3. Senior High Science Questions?
Alex’s friend Dr. Warren The Scientist will be visiting Senior High this Sunday! And remember, this is a great time to ask those tough science questions about God and faith. Do send in any science questions you may already have! For more info see Alex’s previous post.
4. More Hot Shots for Alex!
Apparently, this Sunday the Seniors tested the Aldi hot sauce and were “surprised and impressed” that Alex HASN’T been faking his pain all these years. Now that many of you know the agony he goes through whenever you invite your friends, do keep on inviting them!
Seriously. A few years ago he left for the summer and left me and another leader to take about 30 shots of hot sauce in the course of one weekend, and I’m still bitter about that, and want him to pay. So help a girl out and do what I cannot: Exact revenge. Bring your friends.

5. Early bird deadline for the Niagara Trip!
It’s coming up! Thanks to all of you who have already signed up! If you’re still on the fence about whether or not you want to come, ponder this: Would you do it for $35? Cause that’s what you’ll save by signing up early! And think how much ice cream you can buy on the trip for $35!! So sign-up here.
You can also bring your questions to Sunday’s leadership lunch! See above.
6. Sunday, Nov 6, All Saints Day. The 11am liturgy is chanted!
NEXT SUNDAY, ALEX will be singing the 11am service! And I heard him practicing in the Nave, and he actually has a really lovely singing voice! Even the visiting electrician said so! So if you frequent the 9am service, NEXT Sunday might be a good time to give the 11am a try!
———-
With that dear readers, it is time to reward you with the much coveted pictures of cake. And this time, rather than whatever I baked this week, I present to you my crème de la crème from August. It took me 4 days to construct, and more than a year of practicing. It was for my brother’s wedding. The pretty white one with the flowers was store bought.

Alas, the reception wouldn’t let us douse the thing in rum and light that bad boy on fire.
But we could have. And will, this Christmas. Stay tuned!
Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
