Hello dear readers! How was your fine and lovely Wednesday? At least, I presume it was fine and lovely. I was up at 5am for a 6am interpreting gig, finished early, got to the church while it was still dark out, and didn’t leave until after 8pm when it was dark again. So I am keeping the happy happy memory of sunlight down down down down down in my heart! (Where? DOWN IN MY HEART!)
And speaking of hearts and things that make us happy, ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!

Fri-day Pie-day
This Friday! Approx. 3.14 days from now!
(Wa-wa-wa!)
(Actually “Tomorrow” by the time you read this on Thursday. Our bad.)

Alex: “Jane and I are welcoming a limited number of middle schoolers to our house after school for PIE on the FRI(day).
Join us for Jane’s freshly baked apple pie, games with the kids, and then a ride to youth group (where you can enjoy a dessert of pizza and clementines).
Both Pie slices and places in the Honda Odyssey are sadly limited, so get in touch asap if you want to be included!”
You know how I’m Queen of Cake? I have it on the highest authority that Jane is Queen of All Other Baked Goods! In fact, we’ve collaborated in the past! You won’t want to miss this fantabulous opportunity to try her delicious desserts!!! So reply to this email (middle schoolers/their parents) ASAP to ensure there is a slice and seat for YOU!
Otherwise…
CAYG THIS WEEK
Middle school: Friday, 6:30-8:30pm
High School: Sunday, 6-8:30pm
Pizza pizza pizza pizza.
Tell Us About Your Performances!
It’s that time of year again…
Are you in a show of any kind? Do they allow for audiences? LET US KNOW!!! We love watching you perform, but first we must know you have a production going on! And mentioning “Hey we opened last night” does NOT count as an adequate heads up!!! I speak from many many MANY experiences like that. That’s right, I’m talking about YOU, youth who played Townsperson #4 and didn’t let me know until it was closing night! I still came, but it would have been nice to have time to wrangle a date!
And remember, get your showtimes to me Wednesdays by noon and they can be included in the week’s newsletter!
🥧🍎🥧🍏🥧🍎🥧🍏🥧🍎🥧🍏🥧🍎🥧🍏🥧
With that dear reader, it is time for that thing you’ve been eagerly waiting for: CAKE!!!!
First, there’s THIS lovely blue number that was recently commissioned for a birthday party! 😀

Additionally, I seem to be making “Destroy my Kitchen by Baking Tuesday Night” a weekly thing. But I’m not complaining! And neither are the people at work who must consequently be test subjects the following day! So if you’re ever in the Oakland area Wednesdays, swing by. Eat cake. It’ll only cost you detailed feedback.
This week’s experi-MINT-al project was ANDES MINT cupcakes!

Shout out to Alex who very bravely ate 2, because when you’re doing experiments you have to run through things at least 2x to make sure you’re consistent. Science is cruel that way. Last week he lost count of how many “Pink Pomegranate Punch” cupcakes he ate, all so I could get adequate feedback. My friend, you are the unsung hero of these endeavors.
On that note dear readers, I must bid you adieu. I must answer doors, and brainstorm something involving probably chocolate cake and orange marmalade.
Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
