Hello hello dear readers! How are you this (what I hope and presume is a) fine day? Given how post-covid/doctoral intensives are still on what is left of my mind, I very cleverly decided to write this up on MONDAY and pre-schedule it’s posting/sending. So it’s a coin-toss on the Wednesday weather.
[Resumed Wednesday AM]
Hello again, dear readers. That backfired.
Still doing well- spent most of yesterday packing up the Old Cats in preparation for this Saturday’s MOVING DAY!!!!
Brief reminder that last Sunday was THE LAST CAYG OF THE SEASON. We will resume in the autumn! BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t see one another! Your small group leader would LOVE to hear from you and would probably be pretty stoked to take you for a coffee. And of course, you can see your fellow CAYG-ers at any of our 3 SERVICE PROJECT SATURDAYS!!!!!
A Call to Parents: Because these events are Saturdays not Sundays, our excellent volunteers are unavailable to come and chaperone. We could really use the help of 3-5 parents willing to chaperone for the Ballfield Farm and Open Hand Ministry trips.
Someone recently asked if their Boy Scout Troop could join in the fun for service hours… To that I say: Non Ascension friends are absolutely welcome if they supply a few adults.
THIS SATURDAY: CAYG Moving Day!

What: Literally moving boxes from one room to another, and being my favorites.
Note: We’re getting rid of a bunch of stuff and will have a freebie table on Sunday at Church, but those who help Saturday will get first crack at the stuff!
Saturday July 9: Ballfield Farm

What: Gardening, possibly heavy lifting if more teenage boys sign up.
Saturday July 16: Open Hand Ministries

What: Demolition and yard work!
If you haven’t signed up for a project and would like to, SIGN UP HERE!
To the 20+ youth who indicated they were interested in joining us once they better knew their schedule, check your spam box, because I sent you registration personally.
In other news:
Senior Nostalgia Night: It’s still happening. Next Week.

When: Wednesday, July 6, 6:30-8pm
Who: Graduated seniors
What: Presumably food, and nostalgic things

July 10: Luca (PG)
July 17: Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (PG)
July 24: Clifford the Big Red Dog (PG)

Again, these are NOT CAYG organized events, but now that you’re made aware of it, this could be a fun get-together you guys could plan for!

With that dear readers, I must leave you. Leave you with the anticipation of seeing me Saturday for pizza and moving boxes! Leave you with the joy of knowing that YOU probably DON’T have a lot of homework to do these next few weeks! Leave you with a photo of a birthday cupcake commission from earlier in the months that I’m pleased with. When you bit into the vanilla ones, the cake was dyed to match the masks. And they were holding up pretty well until the heat started to get to them!

Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
