Happy Holy Week Dear Readers!
How is everyone? I’m doing fabulously- On top of giving an in-class homily yesterday that didn’t suck, I ALSO received word that I’m cleared to finally begin my doctoral work at Trinity this summer, AND I have been given an 85% scholarship!! Woot woot!
And SPEAKING OF EXCITING THINGS…
Lasagna DINNER sign-up (Different from Marathon Overnight)

We’re so excited to see you at the overnight in 3ish weeks! But would you like to EAT that night?? RSVP using the link!
“Is this just for the youth?”
This is a FAMILY EVENT! We’ll have just finished the Saturday evening service and everyone will be super hungry. So anyone in the youth’s family is invited. RSVP using the link!
“Eh there’s bound to be extra seats, I’ll just show up. It’s all good.”
All extra seats will be offered to a Nave filled with very hungry parishioners on a first-come first-served basis. If you want to take your chances against a hundred other people who are also convinced they’ll get there before the last seat is claimed… AND they will have just gotten their first whiff of garlic bread… best of luck to you! The ONLY WAY to GUARANTEE your spot is to RSVP using the link!
“I’m not a huge lasagna fan, I’ll just wait for the pizza and overnight snacks.”
There will be no pizza that evening (Scandal! Betrayal! Insubordination!!) and the last time we had a lock-in only one youth remembered to bring snacks to share, soooo… RSVP using the link!
AND SEND US THE NAMES OF FOLKS YOU KNOW RUNNING IN THE MARATHON SO WE CAN BE READY TO CHEER THEM WHEN THEY COME PAST ON SUNDAY MORNING!
Confirmands: May 15, Meeting with the Rector

Father Jonathan Millard wants to hear YOUR faith story and pray for you! You’ll gather as a group outside his office during CAYG on May 15. Be not afraid, he hasn’t been a child prosecutor in a couple decades, and he very rarely brings out his Barrister robe and wig anymore. (Yes, he still has it and uses it every 8 years or so as a sermon prop. It’s exquisite.)
If you are at a place in your faith where you’re still not even sure if you believe, you can talk to Alex, your confirmation mentor, Jonathan on the 15th… The whole point of Confirmation is standing before your church and saying “YES, I BELIEVE.” And if you’re not entirely sure where you stand with things, it’s far better to get that in the open, BEFORE you get to the altar (to switch to a marriage metaphor). Because you’re in the class we’re presuming you want to be, so YOU need to tell US otherwise. We love you, and we’re able to do that more effectively if you let us know who you are and what’s up.
HOLY WEEK Batman!
We have a jam-packed schedule of services!
Maunday Thursday, 7pm

Easter Sunday: 6am, 9am, 11am

Plus the 6am candlelit vigil!

With that, Dear Readers, I must away. Venite routinely has pizza Wednesday nights for the college students and they let me have a few slices for dinner… But they’re doing that service at Heinz Chapel tonight. And sure, they TOLD ME 2+ weeks in advance and have repeatedly REMINDED me in person and via text that they wouldn’t be here tonight… but I still forgot to pack an alternative dinner, so I must away to scrounge for food.
Hope to see many of you throughout this week! And whether we do or don’t, have a very blessed Holy Week.
Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
Last minute edit: A prime example of sharing with one another our burdens and sorrows: After editing the newsletter, Alex informed me there was leftover pizza in the fridge from Jubilate. #Provision
