Palm Sunday! NO CAYG!

Hello hello dear readers! Tis Kelsey, and I am back! Eye sensitivity is doing much better, thanks for asking! (Seriously, people have been asking all week. Not entirely sure what the urgency was- Alex did really well with announcements in my absence! He even had a joke* at the end! (*that I wrote, but that’s beside the point…)) In addition to well-wishes, roughly the entire student AND faculty body at seminary have been taking every opportunity to gleefully ask if I need an intervention for all the wild partying I’m apparently doing that warranted me wearing sunglasses indoors.

Anyhoo, let’s celebrate my mostly-recovery by reading the *dun-dun-dun* ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Palm Sunday, April 10, 9am & 11am: ALEX IS PREACHING!

Not only is Alex Preaching, but there’s going to be a dramatic Gospel reading and we may see a familiar face or two from the youth group!

Our college ministry, Venite, will be leading compline Wednesday evening! All are welcome!

YOU MAY ASK! May 15 & 22

WHAT do you do when you have a few awkward weeks between series’ that are too short for a proper Bible study but also too long to justify not having a plan? YOU MAY ASK! No really, “You may ask”! This is the time for youth to shoot Alex their burning questions about anything and everything and see how Alex performs under pressure by coming up with an evening dedicated to it! Start thinking up your questions now, there will be an opportunity to submit closer to the dates. There are no Christian questions that are off limits! (And if YOU don’t ask questions, he’ll open the floor for the leaders to ask things, and you’ll probably have better questions than we will.)

Shout-out to the 10+ youth and leaders who showed up Saturday morning to put the giant tent up! There was a moment we almost outnumbered the generic volunteers! Well done well done!

Shows Update

Because we had plenty of advance notice, this past week Alex, Leah, Leah’s Fiancé (ḉh℟iṣ?), Bryan, Natalie and I, and SEVERAL CAYG youth got to cheer on one of our very talented ladies in CINDERELLA!
Keep ‘em coming! We would love to know about big games, art shows, hospital stays (that last one might not be featured in the newsletter, but we’d still like to know…)…

But on the topic of shows I shall leave you with a small, uplifting story: Each year around October/November I give Alex a 5+month warning that I will be absent from CAYG one Sunday in April. After several years of this, he no longer asks “Why?” Instead he simply politely asks what he already knows: “For King & Country is in town, are they?”
