Hello! Alex here, not Kelsey. So the CAYG email this week will be like a cupcake without icing. Just a muffin. I want to share a few tweaks / changes to CAYG this Sunday that will impact some, not all. These changes are made after last week’s ‘Elder Council’ gathering – thanks for all your ideas!
- The Elder House is welcome to hang out in the Old Cats for the 6-6.30pm pizza time, instead of in the parish hall. Pizza will be served in both the parish hall AND the ‘bar’ area, like pre-COVID times, and refreshments downstairs will be closer to that which some of you remember from those days. This change is partly inspired by nostalgia, as our oldest CAYG-ers have the deepest memory of this historic pattern, and partly by the low levels of COVID in allegheny county allowing us to spend more time in these underground spaces.
- Elder House folks then can choose their small group at 6.30pm and these groups will gather in the suite of small group rooms in the Old Cats. There will be the same engaging conversations and heartfelt prayer, but without the ’15 minute of fame’ focus from earlier this series.
- New games and new dodgeballs have been acquired to both enrich the parish hall welcome time (new games) and to bring back a CAYG classic for free time (using the dodgeballs) in the New Cats.
So thanks to everyone who shared their suggestions to improve the CAYG experience, and don’t ever hesitate to get in touch with your ideas! I’m sure there will be more tweaks and changes in the coming weeks. Talking of coming weeks, here is the rest of the Pursuit series laid out in a single graphic.

This next piece of news is for parents, so CAYG-ers can look away now… Introducing a one-off special event on Sunday March 20th, from 6pm. Parents of all ages are welcome and you need to register. The registration form also invites parents to share Qs and concerns about this season of life… You can do so here…

Finally, here is some news from our friends at Bellefield. On Saturday May 14, 10:30-12pm, Rhonda Smith will be doing a book signing for her volume ‘When did God make the Dinosaurs’. Gather for snacks and great conversations. You can register here.

And don’t forget to sign up for the Marathon Overnight next month! We will close registration at the end of March.
Thanks!
