Good afternoon, dear readers! How are you this Thursday? I’m tired but fairly well. Valiantly fought through 45 minutes of traffic to arrive on campus a mere 5-10 minutes late for chapel, only to be informed there was a water main break in town, and class was switched to Zoom. (Admittedly I did not check my email for water main breaks before leaving home…) Soooooooo I drove back to Pittsburgh and still wound up 5-10 minutes late for class. Whether on campus or Zoom, I am at least a consistent student.
And speaking of consistency, ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!! We actually have a number of events these next few days…
Ascension Work Day! This Saturday, Feb 26, 9am-12pm!

Hey! Remember this image?? So do you remember a little while back… It was the March 4, 2020 newsletter… Alex announced we would be helping our Director of Maintenance (Isaiah) with some spring cleaning… and it was briefly postponed because something came up… Well we’ve RESCHEDULED FOR THIS SATURDAY!!!!
Ascension is preparing for massive summer construction, and this Saturday CAYG is invited to join the parish for probably the biggest spring clean we’ve had in literally 125 years. From what I understand, our tasks will primarily consist of moving things from one end of the building to the other for storage, or the dumpster.
Fun CAYG BTS: In the CAYG/Venite office, we have a phrase: “Do the right thing.” In our culture, it means “Throw it into the dumpster and we will never speak of it again.” So come, “Do the right thing,” and join us won’t you?

Ash Wednesday Ascension Services: 12pm, 7pm
Lent is upon us, and we invite you to join us for one of our services where we receive ashes on our foreheads and remember the whole point of Jesus coming to earth. All are welcome, regardless of denomination. Masks required.
Marathon Overnight

There is still time to sigh up for the Marathon overnight! ALL youth can come, but you have to reserve your slot! Learn the details and Sign-up here.
Shows??
Hey! You know how we love you and like you and stuff? Well one of our favorite ways of showing you is by seeing you perform in your plays, ballet/music recitals, concerts, musicals, big games, and art shows! But we’ll never KNOW it’s coming up unless you TELL US.

… and mentioning at church Sunday morning that closing night is that evening does NOT count as a fair warning. If you have any performance or event that is open to the public, PLEASE email us sooner rather than later so we can plan on supporting you!

And with that, dear readers, for coming so far with me today, I richly reward you with an update of my online dating saga! We remember last week how famously a suitor attempted to woo me with something resembling English, and I bravely did NOT give into my grad-school tendencies to offer grammatical corrections… Well I couldn’t sleep after that, so I vowed: Never again!
Gentle hearted readers, if you too are of the sentimental nature, to you I say feast your eyes on two more love stories, ended before they even began. (Did I intentionally use all spellings of to/too/two in a single sentence to flex? Yes I did.)

Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
