Helloooooo dear readers! How are you guys I’m FANTASTIC! Not ONLY did last week’s cake commission go well (pictures are once again an end-of-the-newsletter reward), NOT ONLY have we collected 20+ needed birthdays, but yesterday at 1:30am I got an email saying I was accepted into a super awesome trauma-recovery certificate program AND got a 50% scholarship!
Know what else is exciting?
(My transitions are smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover… 🎶.)
This Sunday: Movie Night!
Next Sunday: CAYG like Normal
Our next episode of CAYG’s ‘Pursuit’, looking at Jesus’ attitude to Scripture and the heart of righteousness, is really important for understanding the rest of his Sermon on the Mount.
I (Alex) was planning a mid-series break on the Sunday following (Feb 20), which now makes less sense given snow postponed the start of the series, plus I know many will be torn between CAYG and the Superbowl this Sunday (Feb 13). So here is the new plan.
Sunday Feb 20 sees the next session of our Pursuit Series, with normal attendance expected.
This Sunday Feb 13 we have a bonus special event that replaces the anticipated CAYG-break…
A movie night with the Pitt Film & Media Faculty’s Dr Ali Patterson!!!!
So how does this work? If you (CAYG-ers, volunteers and parents!) want to join us from 6-8.30pm on Sunday, you need to sign up below and vote for one of three movies we are offering. Then turn up, eat pizza, enjoy the movie and the scintillating discussion that will follow!
RSVP and place your vote by Friday! Here.
So what are the three movies options??

Venite Sandwich Success!
Remember last week when Leah said they were hoping to sell at least 60 sandwiches and I scoffed, suggesting we could beat that number? (Years of selling Girl Scout cookies and Boy Scout popcorn has changed me as a person…)
Venite’s college ministry SOLD OUT and sold 92 sandwiches!!!!! Huzzah!!! Well done, everyone! Just as much as they appreciate you buying and eating their sandwiches, they’ll appreciate your prayers for Jubilee on the 26th!
As many of you are aware, one of the ways we serve the community is by helping out at the Pittsburgh Marathon! And they’ve upped their game by providing online sign-up forms! If you’re unsure if you’ll be joining us, no worries- more information will follow. For now, know this: There are TWO ways to help out at the marathon!
1. Be at the start line for half marathon runners! 7am-10am (This is NEW!!)
2. Serve at the traditional fluid station. 6am-12pm noon. (This is our usual task!)
With THAT dear reader, you’re all caught up! Sign up for the movie night, send me your birthday if you joined CAYG 2020-now, rejoice with me as I prepare to learn all about trauma and the brain, and feast your eyes on my first official cake commission!
