My dear readers! Hello! As you doubtlessly figured out within 2 sentences of last week’s newsletter, I was NOT here to send you our weekly updates. But now I’M BACK FROM VACATION!! And after the insanity of last semester (and the frantic catching up of all homework once my broken hands healed parenthesis I realized last week just how very needed a vacation was, too! Also upon my return to the office I was informed that apparently taking a Grad School intensive where they cram an entire semester into 5 days “doesn’t actually count as a vacation, you really have no idea how to take breaks, do you?” So the moral of this story is I need a vacation to recover from my “technically not a vacation.” Accepting suggestions. Trips are not options unless you wanted to also fund it.
Anyhoo, I hope YOU GUYS had a lovely break because WE’RE RELAUNCHING!!!!

CAYG is Back This Sunday, January 23! THE PURSUIT…
(…Of making Alex chug hot sauce at CAYG)

We begin our spring series THIS SUNDAY!!!
Arrive 6pm for pizza!
Pick-up at 8:30!
Sturdy masks still mandatory!
As most of you know, we here at CAYG have a time-honored tradition of welcoming newcomers with CHUGGING HOT SAUCE. Not the youth, that would be cruel. No no no, we make Alex do it. Or whoever is leading that evening. And it would be inhumane to make a YOUTH drink 41 shots of hot sauce. (Conveniently, in 2018 on the weekend Alex would have had to drink that many, he left the country. Consequently, I and my co-summer director Wes had to drink them. And if you think the youth were ok with us splitting the shots rather than drinking 41 shots each, you’ve clearly never worked with teens before. There’s a video somewhere, it was agony.)
Anyway, have you yet to sign up? Do so via this link so we can make sure you’re sorted into the right house! You are encouraged to invite your friends from school, band, team, troop, and musical! As every CAYG youth knows, Alex ONLY takes a hot shot if the youth has never been here before.
Confirmation Class This Sunday!
You know the drill!
When: After the 11am service (12:30ish)
Where: Parish Hall
What: Caviare (cheese and pepperoni)
10 days left for Harrisburg sign-up!
The trip is July 24-29!
Here’s a picture of the house one of our groups painted last year!

Sign-up here so you can join the team!!!
Do you have a Birthday?

If your youth did NOT receive a birthday card last year, we don’t have it. So please PLEASE email us so we can send a card this year!
Let it (stop) snow(ing) Let it (stop) snow(ing) Let it (stop) snooooow(ing)
Welp, the prayers of children have finally won! I managed to hold it off as long as I could, but my prayers against cold weather and snow went down significantly during JanTerm, which I think explains the sudden mass intake of snow very well. And by looks of things, people really enjoyed the ski trip!

And if Alex hasn’t received enough accolades these past few months (ordained deacon, ordained priest, sworn in as a US citizen) now he can add newspaper star to the list!!!!

I encourage you to check out his Facebook post about it. The comments are delightful.
YAY LEADERS
Last but never least, we, your amazingly kind, creative, humble, and exuberant leaders are SO EXCITED to see you this Sunday! It’s almost all anyone could talk about at our leadership training! But I know the question you’ve all been dying to know is: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR DINNER???? Was it Pizza? Did we actually have something else?? What what WHAT because we all cannot rest until we know!
Well, tragically we had to meet on Zoom because of the answered prayers of children for snow. See if you can spot who zoomed in all the way from North Africa where it was midnight! Because of the remote meetings, we were left to figure out our own dinners.

I had pizza.
🌼🌸🌷🌸🌼
With that, dear readers, fare thee well! See many of you Sunday!
Much love,
Kelsey Nienna ❤
