Hello hello hello, my dear readers! Kelsey here with tales to tell about this upcoming weekend, and may I say now that I’m SO EXCITED for this weekend!!!!!?? Because Thursday at midnight my final paper is due and Friday morning I’ll be FREE!!!! (Why, what exciting thing were you thinking of that’s happening Friday?)
Seeing as getting a good night’s sleep is of course a hallmark of youth group overnights, I look forward to kicking back and restfully recovering from seminary finals… erm… maybe Sunday evening. Could be Tuesday, I’m marginally flexible.
So anyway LET’S GET TO THIS WEEKEND!!!!!! We have something every day!
🌼🌸🌷🌸🌼
Friday: LOCK-IN!!!

The lasagnas are purchased, the lesson plan is going to be done (eventually), and we can’t wait to see you! For a complete reminder of everything, check out this link.
But here are the main highlights:
Arrive at 6:30pm for lasagna dinner
– $uggested donation of $10 to cover your lasagna, garlic bread, salad, garlic bread, ice cream treats, garlic bread, hot chocolate bar, garlic bread, and did I mention there will be garlic bread??
– So far no one has exposed themselves as gluten intolerant and you have until tomorrow afternoon to identify yourselves to me of you want to eat. Vegetarians- we’ve got you!
9:45pm Goodbye 6th-7th graders!!
Parents collect them from Parish Hall
10:30am, Saturday: Goodbye 8th-12th graders!
Other important details:
You see this?? It’s the packing list. See what’s on it? Take note

See what’s NOT on the list to bring??

Also note the ugly sweater! I have an unattractive “reindeer” sweater I’m quite fond of, and today I came across the monstrosity that Alex is planning to wear… He inconsiderately left it hanging in the CAYG office where any innocent soul could stumble across it and frankly I put up with A LOT as his assistant but seriously-!! … Anyway come wearing your own ugly sweater to dull the exposure pain of the unfortunation he’s subjecting us to. Whoever lent it to him I hope you read this and are humbled and ashamed. Jeff.
Saturday: GREENING OF THE NAVE! 9-10:30ish
After our refreshing 1.6 hours of sleep, we will all troop into the Nave and help church staff with the Greening of the Nave! We hang wreaths, candles, decorate a giant Christmas tree, and get everything pretty for the impending holiday!
Q: I’m in 6th-7th grade and was forcibly evacuated from the church last night. Can I come back to help?
A: Of course! How sweet of you to ask! Come to the Neville door and ring!
Q: What time is the GotN?
A: 9am-10:15ish
Q: What happens at 10:30?
A: All the youth leave (ideally picked up by parents).
SUNDAY
Lessons and Carols
This Sunday for the 9am AND the 11am service we will be having the annual Lessons and Carols service! (It’s one of my favorite services ever…) There will be singing, several different choirs, one of our very own CAYGers will be doing a dance number that reportedly brought our music director to tears (in a good way) and Alex’s own adorable children will be singing solos! (No, he didn’t pay me to give them a personal plug.)
This festive service is a great excuse to bring family or friends who ordinarily might not come to church. If you cannot make it, feel free to tune in online for the 11am service!
Confirmation class= YES!
When: This Sunday, after the 11am service (12:30ish?)
Where: The Hunt Rooms
What: Marilyn Chislaghi will be giving the run down of church ministries.
Also What: Bring your confirmation handbook!
Additionally what: POP QUIZ!!!! (ABH said it was a “mid-term review exam” but “Pop quiz” sounds more optimistic.)
CAYG=NO!!
Last Sunday was THE LAST CAYG MEETING OF THE YEAR!!!! We will be returning our weekly hullabaloo in January and give you plenty (at least 12 hours) of warning before we resume!
And here’s a preview poster that Alex made!!!!!

Aha… Yes… I’m sensing that the lesson is something to do with how time online is always a worthwhile endeavor because it gives us a happiness that lasts forever… and the Sermon on the Mount will teach us how to achieve eternal happiness with 280 characters or less… (Not to flex too much, but I attend seminary, so…)
Ski trip
Also, here’s that ski trip flier and sign-up link.

With that dear reader, here is where I leave you. You’re safe now. Now go and find an ugly sweater and bring a snack to share!
See many of you FRIDAY!!!!!!
Much love,
Kelsey Nienna
