Hello hello my dear readers! We had an unexpectedly lovely day yesterday, didn’t we! As of course you are all eagerly waiting for me to update you on MY life before getting into the CAYG report, let me share the cool news to those of you who haven’t yet seen on Facebook that after 2 1/2 years of contemplating and several months of legal processing, this week my last name was finally legally changed! Alas, not for marriage, but for professional reasons that are all very logical and well thought out, and yet… deeply moving… and strangely poetic… You may even weep, it is an appropriate response. Big name reveal is hidden somewhere below, so be sure to read it all very carefully!!

1. Alex’s USA Citizenship Ceremony TODAY!
It may come as a shock to hear this… but Alex… isn’t originally from Pittsburgh.
He’s actually from Italy.

(Only partially untrue- he DID meet his (American) wife Jane there…)
I haven’t any idea if we’re supposed to do more than wish Alex a “Happy Independence Day” but I’m going to guess he wouldn’t mind gifts in the form of Toblerone chocolates. You can get them at Target.

(If the chocolate suggestion survived the final edits, it means Alex saw it and didn’t have me nix it. Do with that information what you will.)
Saturday, 9am: Sunrise Songs for the Morning
We Anglicans use the Book of Common Prayer for worship, and the very talented Elise Massa has arranged the Morning Prayer into song! Her album has just been completed and we at Ascension are celebrating with her! Join us this Saturday for a musical worship and brunch to follow. RSVP here.

This Sunday
2. Alex Preaching!
We seem to be making a habit of this! It’s like he was recently ORDAINED or something! You’re invited to join us at Ascension for our masked indoor services at 9am and 11am. For those unable to come, the 11am service is live-streamed on YouTube.
3. Youth Confirmation
When: After the 11am service. Est 12:20ish-2
Where: The Hunt Rooms
What: Pizza, probably.
4. Final Renew
I hope everyone felt RENEWed by our fall Renew series (see what I did there?)! Because this Sunday is the last one! Dry thine eyes, we will RESUME with our short pre-Christmas series beginning Sunday, December 5. More details to come. And no, it’s not called “Resume.” I know I secretly run everything, but I don’t actually know what we’re calling it.
Future Dates and Events
5. NO CAYG on SUNDAY, NOV 28!
When: Sunday, Nov 28.
What: Not CAYG.
6. Christmas Overnight!
What could be better than a CAYG lock-in?? A CHRISTMAS SEASON Lock-in! Hooray! Spaces are limited. How limited? Grades 6 & 7 are welcome to join us for the evening activities beginning with our 6pm dinner, and then welcome (forced) to leave at 9pm. Alas, the sugar-induced, sleep-deprived ordeal that is the overnight is a joy the Littles will have to wait to enjoy in future years.
7. Wreaths! Less than 2 Weeks!
We need all orders by November 28! A winner has not yet been decided and there is still time for YOU and YOUR TEAM to win big! Please get us your filled forms and payments in these next 2 weeks, and keep referring people to the online link. Reminder: If you ordered but did NOT receive a confirmation email, it didn’t go through. If in doubt, shoot us an email!
8. Ski Trip! Save the Date!
When: Monday, January 17, 2022. 10am-4:30pm.
Cost: $33 for the Lift Ticket.
Details: To come!

And now dear reader, here at the end card where I typically resolve my opening dramas, I give you the fantabulous New Name Reveal to any of you who still haven’t managed to find it in the above announcements! (Go back and reread everything just in case! There’s a candy prize for the first person who can accurately tell me where I hid it!)
Have a wonderful day, dear readers.
Love,
Kelsey Regan Nienna ❤
(RIP middle name “Michelle”)
P.S. I too am accepting congratulatory gifts in the form of chocolate.

Ok ok one last photo.

We expect your Americanness to make itself known with the use of y’all/y’inz etc.
