Good afternoon, dear readers! How is everyone these days? I’m doing fairly well- Apart from a broken finger on each hand rendering all house chores and homework impossible, I can’t complain too much parentheses anyway you can hardly tell I’m relying nearly solely on voice to text dictation parentheses.
Fortunately for me, Alex gave so much detail in the various things he wanted announced, I can almost do entirely copy and paste! I promise to keep broken bone jokes to a minimum. Let’s get cracking!
CAYG dates for October
1. NO CAYG this Sunday, Oct 17
2. YES CAYG on Sunday 24th. AND Youth Confirmation Lunch that day.
Note: The evening of Sunday Oct 24 also hosts the final More Than Stones gathering. If the whole family is planning on attending, CAYG-ers start in the Nave with everyone for the 5 PM presentation and then slip outside at 6 PM for pizza. Please RSVP via the postcard you may have received in the mail, or with this link.
3. YES CAYG on Halloween!
Loving and selfless offer: if you find yourself overwhelmed with the amount of chocolate you collected, we are here for you during these troubled times and (though it is a burden) we will take it all off your hands the following Sunday. Because that’s what heroes do.

Sunday, October 17: Theology Pop Up on Baptism
Have you ever wanted to know more about baptism? Why is it important, does anything really change when someone is baptized? Why does the Anglican church baptize babies? Ascension is having a short class this Sunday hosted by our associate rector, Father Kevin. Meet at the baptismal font in the back of the nave after the 11 AM service (12:30 is a safe arrive time if you will be coming from offsite). There will be a light lunch, so be sure to RSVP here.
Saturday, October 30: Alex is getting ordained!!!
These past few months, our very own CAYG director DEACON Alex has been working towards priesthood! Join us for the service at 10am, and outdoor reception following! RSVP and let’s show our love and support!

The race is still on to see which wreath team will get the much coveted pizza party! I was just looking over the numbers, and somehow I am in second place. Don’t let me win! We still have plenty of order form hardcopies that you can pick up any day of the week, and the order link is here.
Don’t forget to ask the person to write your name as the referring youth so you can get credit.
“But what if I have a neighbor who wants a wreath, but can’t come the day of collection? Could I make a note in the orders that says I will collect on their behalf?” Excellent question dear reader! And so very thoughtful and generous of you! Yes you can.
With that dear reader, I bid you adieu. I welcome Halloween costume suggestions that will fit with my current predicament of both hands being in splints. Current top runners are Edward Scissorhands, a pirate, and a double-stump gender-bend of Evan Hansen.
