- October Date Switch! CAYG is October 10, not October 17.
Originally our October weekend off was going to be Oct 10… This has changed.
Turn up as usual on October 10, the Sunday after Laurelville. But no CAYG on the 17th.
- Covid Response Team.
Congrats, YOU are the response team! Please report any CAYG Covid cases to us as quickly as possible and thanks to everyone for wearing their masks inside!
Note: by the end of the evening, we did spot some disposable mask straps breaking. Please send youth with sturdy ones if possible.
Personal plug: On an unrelated note, I, Kelsey, make and sell masks. Click HERE for the catalogue!!!! (This announcement is NOT an elaborate scheme for my personal financial gain, but hey, the harvest is plentiful…)
- Be a Ducky Diver!
We are SO EXCITED to be returning to Laurelville in 2 weeks! (just 2 weeks? Ack…) Packing lists will be coming, but for now, pack your swimsuits and ping me an email if you want to join the Ducky Diver team! With the return of Laurelville comes the return of the DUCKY DERBY! Yes! That egg-celent event Saturday afternoon where the church dumps a bunch of plastic ducks into the creek and the first ducks over the waterfall wins! And as ever, CAYG is helping host!
We need HIGH SCHOOLERS (who can swim) who are willing to brave the water with me to collect the ducks, AND we need MIDDLE SCHOOLERS nearby so we can throw the ducks to you!
If you haven’t witnessed this glorious event before and are intrigued, contact Mama Duck Kelsey for a more detailed run-down. Despite hating being cold and wet, this is actually a highlight of my year, and I hope to jump in the creek with you!!
With that, dear reader I bid you a happy afternoon!
