Hello! Not Kelsey here today, just the less-sparkly prose of a 40-year-old Brit.
I admit I was pretty nervous before last night. This was a whole new format, with two separate rivers of programming that converged for an ‘Ohio’ moment of praise at the end. But, despite nearly choking on hot sauce, I looked around with joy at the nearly ninety faces in the Parish Hall and was very thankful.
I am very thankful for the CAYG-ers who brought their energy and insights, for the volunteers who brought their wisdom and flexibility, for Danyel, who probably covered about three miles over the evening running around the church doing set up and clear-up as the evening progressed, for the moms who met and prayed in the courtyard, and for Scott who built our very own set of 9-square!
As I shared in our opening moment during the teaching time, my hope in doing all this is to give our CAYG-ers the opportunity to be Confident Christians in Community, learning with me what it means to enjoy life in Jesus’ presence.
What was your experience of the first CAYG of this fall? Or what have you heard? I’d love any wisdom and feedback, questions or suggestions, so we can learn quickly for next Sunday,
What does this slide mean? If you weren’t there, ask someone who was!

In other news, the deadline to sign up for Laurelville is next Sunday September 19. For those who aren’t at Ascension on a Sunday morning, please find a form here that can be printed, completed, scanned and returned to josh.bennett@ascensionpittsburgh.org.

And finally, I have put all the Youth Confirmation info here. Thanks to all parents who have found a confirmation mentor and emailed me the news. You can also send mentors this link. The next event is our first lunch on September 26.
