Starting Sunday June 20, we begin our five weekends of summer CAYG!
But what is the vision for this ‘Better Together’ series?
Here is how Josh and Jess Bennett have put it:
“In this series we will explore how God designed humans to be known and loved in relationships (Creation); the specific ways sin has broken, twisted, or stripped away these relationships (Fall); and how the Gospel heals and gives us a new way of relating, especially in our differences (Redemption/Restoration).”
“We will dive into four areas of relationships that teenagers navigate (friendships, romantic relationships, parents, and what we’ve fondly titled “difficult people”) and seek to learn how, in Christ, we can be better together.”

Oh, and what is the change for this Summer, as suggested in the title?
There was a clue in the opening line… ‘starting Sunday June 20’.
Some might be thinking – ‘wait, what about middle schoolers on Friday June 18?’
Given the success of our middle- and high-school combined event on Sunday June 6 in which we appreciated:
- the ample space available in the tent and outside for folks to spread out in
- the possibility of all having pizza and all enjoying the high schoolers’ music team
- the combined CAYG leadership team getting to work together for five weekends
- the ride-share efficiencies
- and the not insignificant set-up involved for a tent event…
We have decided to take the meaning of ‘Better Together’ to the next level…
So middle schoolers and high schoolers will be together, in grade-orientated small groups, under the same big tent, for five Sundays this Summer!
June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18 and July 25
NOTHING on the 4th of July Weekend
I am hopeful that, come the fall, we will be vaccinated and returning to the noisy old catacombs on our separate Friday and Sunday nights, but for now, this is a summer of Better Together.
