It’s good to talk. Phone calls with friends were actually a highlight of 2020 for me.
CAYG will be doing something new for the next few weeks. Rather than seeing the spiking COVID-cases, freezing weather, and zoom fatigue as a crisis for our CAYG community, let’s take the opportunity to have those meaningful and memorable phone conversations that can be such a surprising joy.
But what do you want to talk about, and with whom?
Our goal is to set up THREE 30-minute phone chats between YOU and a CAYG leader you choose, based on questions you want to ask, at a time that fits your schedule, between now and Ash Wednesday (Feb 17, the beginning of Lent).
But to do that, you need to sign up to share your preferences! You can pick from a range of leaders, questions and times via this form.
You’ll see that potential discussion questions range from the CAYG classic ‘what is your most embarrassing moment’ to the searching ‘when have you found the church most unsupportive and alienating?’ What would you want to ask?
Sign up now! Deadline Sunday January 10 at 6pm.
Talking of deadlines, the deadline to sign up for Saturday’s Ski Trip is the end of Thursday January 7.
For the 30+ who have already done so, please note the following three things:
- Bring your own food as the indoor catering facilities are not open. Good news though; Rhonda will be parking in the North Face parking lot and will set up her portable fire pit, offering hot dogs and s’mores.
- Bring a spare mask or two in case your primary one gets too wet and cold.
- Meet in the main Hidden Valley parking lot at Noon to receive your ski passes etc from Rhonda, and you may want to pass to her a bag of your supplies that she will then drive IN A BIG ORANGE PICK UP (!) to the North Face parking lot for easy access later.
