I’m so thankful for all those involved in our fourteen live (and one virtual) Porch Pods this weekend!
I’m not just talking about the eighty five folks in various locations, but also thankful for the parents who drove, the porch hosts who swept, provided water and turned on their pretty lights, and the neighbors who didn’t complain! At least not to me, and not yet…
And then we got some encouraging emails…
“Just a quick note to let you know how much […] enjoyed CAYG on Friday. He came home energized, ecstatic about the time he had with his group.. Friday was an answer to prayer. And his leader–Jesse! This guy clearly knows how to connect with middle school boys! Our boy was so alive as he shared–what a blessing to see. Please pass on our gratitude.”
“I wanted to write to tell you […] had a great time at youth group. He was super excited and can’t wait to come back. I’ve rarely seen him this excited about much… and has said on more than one occasion he wishes youth group was more than once a week.”
I’m so thankful for our volunteer team, without whom none of this would be possible. Could you join me in thanking them…. by cooking?!
The CAYG leaders gather for dinner on my deck at 5.30pm on Friday and Sunday, and I would LOVE to provide a home-made meal for them so they don’t get sick of pizza!
There are seven slots I’d like to fill, and the first is THIS FRIDAY!
In other news, if you know of any college kids at Pittsburgh who would like to meet up with me, Leah Hornfeck or Chris Kirkland for a coffee, we would love to take them out (outside!)
