- How can we learn to receive solitude and simplicity as a gift? Tune in on Sunday night (6.45pm-7:30pm) and hear Jess share the ‘Ascetic’ pathway to draw near to God. The eighth of our nine episodes in this series. Sigh.
- But for a little entertainment, and with the hope of winning a $10 online gift certificate, rewatch last Sunday’s Livestream and email me the correct answer to these questions…
- Beloved CAYG graduate / legend Lucca Spence left his phone downstairs and thus ghosted us when we called to ask him to read the vision statement and prayer. True or False?
- Which bit of advice from Leah’s talk did both Sarah and Hannah ‘enthuse’ about in their response videos?
- Which Psalm did Alex Randall quote while sitting on a fallen tree trunk in Schenley Park?
- And you might also enjoy this recording of Jane and I leading Morning Prayer earlier this week. Did we get to the end of the service without being interrupted by the kids?
- We would love for you to record and send us a video of you singing “All Praise to Thee, my God this night, for all the blessings of the light. Keep us, O keep us, King of Kings, beneath thine own almighty wings.” Here is the tune, hammered out by me on the keyboard to help you with pitch and tempo.
- Looking ahead (which has been hard recently…)
- The NEAR series finishes on May 31. That is the last ‘Virtual CAYG’ livestream. There will be a big celebration to finish that series and we also hope to celebrate what you guys have been achieving during this very blah season ‘in school.’ Do send us any pics of what you have made or achieved!
- June 7 is going to be our ‘Transition Sunday’ in which we will be stopping off outside homes to welcome rising 6th graders to CAYG. Is there someone you know who we should reach out to?
- However, given that we can’t gather large groups in this season, and will continue to exist in small groups only, the hard line between middle and high school youth groups won’t exist in the normal way this summer.
- The weekend of Friday June 12 and Sunday June 14 will be the beginning of a six-week Summer CAYG series. Plans are still being finalized but we will be moving away from the fixed Livestream model on Sunday nights. Watch this space!
