- Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday morning to sell Christmas greens in Oakland as part of our annual CAYG fundraiser to subsidize our summer service projects. Congrats to Micah and Kalu who can now choose a free place on our 2020 ski trip or a free place in our 2020 Kennywood day.
- Talking of selling Christmas Wreaths… Order forms will be available to take from CAYG this weekend (as well as being in the Ascension Sunday Service Sheet) but there is also the option to order online here. Both paper and online versions have the opportunity to specify ‘REFERRING YOUTH.’ These names will go into our spreadsheet and the ‘two youth most referred’, or our TOP 2 SELLERS, will get to choose a free place on either Ski trip or Kennywood day. There will also be awards at the dinner for those who get 10 referrals or more.
- Overnight Before Christmas. The wreath-selling winners will be revealed at our Christmas Dinner on Friday December 13th, which leads into the Overnight. If you want a glimpse of me and (most of) my family doing a festive lip-sync performance last year, click here!
- Leadership Lunch. I invite all youths and leaders to join us for a pizza lunch this Sunday, 12:45-2pm in the Hunt Rooms, to start planning the Overnight Before Christmas. It is your ideas that make these events better every year! So you don’t go hungry, please RSVP here so we can order enough food!
- JUST *FIVE* PLACES LEFT FOR LYNN 2020. And just ten days left to register your interest. CLICK HERE to find out more about our June trip with YouthWorks to Lynn (near Boston). We have space for one more chaperone too.
- Two Ski Trips! We are very thankful that Rhonda Smith is offering us not just one, but two ski trips this year. Middle Schoolers (and parents) can sign up for the Day Skip Trip (Saturday Jan 18th) while High Schoolers (and chaperones) can do so for the Sunday to MLK Monday (Jan 19-20th) Overnight Ski Trip.
- Youth Confirmation Lunch on Sunday November 3rd, Hunt Rooms from 1-2:30pm. And you will get NEW BINDERS! You can transfer all your paperwork so far from the mortal dwelling of those folders into the eternal dwelling of bright binders. You’re welcome!
- The Diocesan Youth Gathering is Saturday November 2nd and you can register here. Thankful that Jonathan Warren’s friend, Pieter Valk from Equip ministries, is giving a seminar for the youth track. Equip’s mission is “to help churches become places where LGBT+ Christians could belong and thrive according to a traditional sexual ethic.”
