Happy Day-Before-the-4th-of-July, Everyone!
In honour of the National holiday, there will be NO CAYG THIS WEEKEND!!!!
We will resume Friday July 12, and Sunday July 14. And we just might have a special guest… (We will, I’m just drawing it out for suspense.)
- Calling all youth car washers!
When: Saturday, July 6, 9am-1pm.
Where: Home Depot in East Liberty. 400 N Highland Ave.
What: A car wash, to support the Haiti Team.
What do we need?: We need youth to come and help the Haiti team wash cars! Also bring cleaning stuff like sponges, brushes, and buckets! Pizza provided. Follow the link and sign up! (If parents and siblings come and help wash cars, of course they can have pizza too.) On-site contact is Holly Stanton 724-422-7711.
- We have 9 days to save the Charleston Mission Trip.
On July 12, the South Carolina trip will be cancelled if we do not get the 1-2 additional chaperones. The trip dates are July 28-August 2 and cost will be fully covered. - Do you have talent?? An open letter from one of our students:
Hi all, Sarah Cummings here! I am in charge of organizing the CAYG Cabaret evening this summer and am in search for some youth group talent! This event is part of a fundraiser to send money to Haiti, and there are many ways to help! I have attached a google form below and would love it if you all could take a minute to fill it out if you are interested. We are also in search of youth to help with childcare, baking, and technical things (like sound and lighting). Any help would go a long way! The date of this event will be July 20th with possible rehearsal days for students who are performing. The deadline to sign up is the 8th of July, and I would love to hear from you! - Biking for Haiti (July 30th – August 7th).
Instead of flying to Haiti, our team will be biking to the Haitian Embassy in Washington DC as part of our fundraising for Haiti H20. They leave Tuesday July 30, will make their journey on two wheels, before returning on four wheels on Wednesday August 7. Email us at caygonline@gmail.com if you’re interested in joining!
- KENNYWOOD DAY!
Shout out to the 4 people who have RSVPed! Wednesday, July 24, we will be going to Kennywood for the day! Anyone and everyone is welcome: Family, friends, siblings… Tickets are only $22!! We will need parents who can carpool and chaperone. RSVP by Sunday, July 21.
- Wes + Kelsey + Tabasco Sauce = Leadership
Wes and I have each had 71 shots of hot sauce to welcome new youth and leaders! The youth have accepted the challenge: If the Middle Schoolers can bring 30 new youth to Friday night CAYG, and Senior High bring 20, Wes and I will each down a bottle of tabasco sauce. Because leadership. We have three weeks left to meet the challenge!
