- Parish Retreat! The first weekend of October sees hundreds of Ascensionites travel to Laurelville for our parish retreat. You can sign up here. Many non-Ascension youth normally join us and, as well as the online form above, parents of such need to download, complete and bring the Unaccompanied Teen Permission Slip APR 2018 to youth group before the end of September. There is no youth group that weekend (October 5th & 7th)
- Friday 14th (6:30-8:30 Middle School) and Sunday 16th September (6:30-8:30 High School) will see us continue our new fall series. Last weekend saw the high schoolers achieve more new-guest-hot-sauce damage to my insides than the middle schoolers (I toasted maybe 15 newcomers out of a total of 40 on Sunday night). If you’re coming and bringing a friend for the first-time, let me know so I can buy enough hot sauce… Also, text or call me (412-652-3137) if you are joining us for the first time so I can navigate you to our CAYG entrance door around the back of Ascension, entering from the Ellsworth parking lot!
- Kelsey is Moving! But the good news is that our middle-school-team super-star is not moving far. Having been given a scholarship to do her Masters at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, she is only moving a few blocks to her new place on campus. Come join us on at 5528 Stanton Saturday September 22nd at 9am to play U-Haul Tetris with her boxes, unload at PTS and enjoy pizza around noon! To ensure enough pizza PLEASE RSVP HERE
- Youth Confirmation Process. If you know anyone who might be interested in Ascension’s Youth Confirmation Process, invite them to an introductory lunch we are hosting on Sunday September 23rd. More info here. I am also looking for a volunteer Catering Manager for the confirmation process, which essentially means preparing a salad once a month, collecting pizza from Papa Johns at 12:45pm on Sunday and helping serve food and water to the confirmands and mentors.
